Being wrong is part of reporting. Hiding it is not.

What we correct

Factual errors: names, figures, dates, programme rules, misattributed quotes, wrong identifications of any kind. We also correct headlines and standfirsts that the facts do not support.

How it works

Write to [email protected] with the article URL and the claim you believe is wrong, plus the evidence you have. The desk reviews every correction request. If we are wrong, the article is fixed and a dated note is added at the foot of the piece describing what changed. If we are right, we reply and explain why.

Substantial corrections are also logged on this page for a rolling year.

Typos that change nothing material are fixed without a note.
